Carpets are made to be stepped on, and a consequence are receptors of many different kinds of pollutants and germs. That fluffiness of theirs means that they are made of soft fabric, which unfortunately is an amazing shelter for a lot of stuff prone to give you unpleasant allergic reactions. Vacuuming every so and so helps keep the overall look tidy and neat, but should not be taken as an alternative to more in depth carpet cleaning. And this is when our company comes to the rescue. We at Clean By Nature provide specific solutions to any kind of carpet (or surface) to ensure the full sanitization of your house. How do we do it? Keep reading to find out a few of our tested pro tips.
1. Mites not mates
Dust mites are undeniably some of the nastiest carpet lodgers. They hide so deep and it is really hard to get rid of them. Our first tip is to vacuum the carpet with a vacuum equipped of HEPA filter: these machines prevent those horrible mites from being just moved around the house. Think about them as being jailed in that filter! Then, steam clean the carpet to sanitize the fabric. Make sure you reach at least 130F to ensure success. If you don't own a steam cleaner, we can do it for you.
2. Shaving Cream Stain Removal
Ok this sounds far fetched, but you should seriously give it a try. Sources confirm that it actually works, it just takes a little bit of patience. The secret is to cover the stain for 15 minutes, on 1 inch thick layer, then gently blot the stain in circular motions, re-applying the foam a few times if necessary. Rinse with warm water.
3. Pet Fouling, No Fearing
If you have a little pup you might also have to deal with those little accidents that happen when they are not house trained yet. The first port of call would be to try the shaving cream trick, but if that does not work, you can also resort to this 100% biodegradable organic pet stain remover. It clears the carpet from urines, feces, sweat and vomit.
4. Carpet Refreshing
For more general cleaning purposes, like a spring carpet cleaning, or a deep monthly cleaning, keep in mind the power of both vinegar and diatomaceous Earth. The first one is an evergreen in house cleaning, and I am sure I will have future posts to explain more in depth about its uses. Just mix 1 cup of white vinegar, 2 cups of water, 1.5 teaspoons of table salt, and a few drop of any essential oil of you preference. Grab a sponge and start scrubbing. Not the laziest solution, but effective. The diatomaceous Earth is a type of silica with outstanding cleaning properties. In carpet cleaning, it does wonders in deodorizing the surface.
5. Mold and Mildew Carpet Removal
Mold not only looks awful, but it is also smelling and can have impacts on your body wellbeing if the spores roam free in the air for too long. Luckily, you can use a paste made up by 1/2 cup of lemon and 1/4 cup of salt to get rid of that. Scrub the area and let it there for 30 minutes. Then rinse with warm water. Make sure you do a spot check on an hidden area to double check that the paste is safe on the carpet.
